Formed in 2003, DKR Imports LLC has been created to focus on the importation of alcoholic beverage for wholesale sale into the United States marketplace. DKR Imports LLC, a Dumont NJ based company, announces the launch of the wines of Carlo Massimiliano Gritti. This line of Umbrian wines were created by the famous enologist Andrea Paoletti, formerly of Tignanello. The vineyards are owned by the Gritti family, one of Venice's historic families whose decendant was Andrea Gritti, the Doge of Venice between 1523 and 1538. As anyone who has seen the Palazzo Gritti (the 5-star Gritti Palace Hotel) on the Grand Canal will know, the Grittis have long been famous for the taste and excellence of their work, and these qualities continue today in the persons of Carlo and his family. Reviewed by the Wine Spectator's Matt Kramer for the Portland Oregonian, our Muda was called "flat our exceptional". Ca' Andrea, has been described by Craig Camp, Food and Wine Magazine's top blogger, as "racy and refined . . . what Chianti used to be" In addition there is a Vino Passito called Rhea which is outstanding, as well as a Super Tuscan from Andrea Paoletti's own vineyard called Rancore that is nothing more than phenonemal. The wines are currently being distributed by the Allied Beverage Group in New Jersey and 57 Main Street Imports in NY.
